It has been probably 20 years since I took my last science examination, and about 8 years since I was a science teacher, so I found the study guide helpful for recall of things that (1) I flat out forgot, (2) knew the concept but forgot the specifics (transcription and translation of DNA, for instance), and (3) things that have changed since I was invested. I power read "Secrets" from front to back, taking copious notes and annexing the internet when necessary, and managed to do pretty well on the Praxis examination. If you believe that by simply reading through the book that you will pass, I would suggest coming up with another strategy. Overall, it is a good start to get the juices flowing and the memory sparking.
I did find a few things a bit troubling. The arrangement is kind of all over the place. Yes, there is a flow from one science to another, but there is a real lack of strong transitions and constant repeating of the same information in different paragraphs, and sometimes in ways that seemed like 40 people were writing the book and weren't talking to one another (and the editor seemed to miss the overlap).

Not the study aid for me.

I appreciate all the information that has been compiled in this study guide, but it has absolutely no pictures/figures and I just can't study effectively without them. If you study best by reading lots of text, this will be good for you. I am very visual and benefit best from visual aids rather than blocks of text. Honestly, I spent $18 on a used high school physical science text book for studying and passed the Praxis pretty comfortably. I would highly recommend the producers of this guide add some visuals to the study guide.

Agree with most - it's a good start. There're a few mistakes in the book that you have to be smart enough to find if you don't want to end up more confused. This is seriously disappointing sense the whole purpose of this book is for clarification.
Ex - (AB + CD --> AC + BD) as an example of a double displacement reaction. Pg. 39
